What is Power Embedded

O Power Embedded is a web portal in the SaaS (Software as a Service) format that uses a capacity license from Fabric or Power BI Embedded to access the official Power BI APIs and display the reports published on app.powerbi.com in this portal, 100% customized with your company's visual identity.

Access to the reports is done via API through capacity licensing. A user who only views the reports will not need to access app.powerbi.com, and they will not require a Power BI Pro license or even a Power BI account, as they can access Power Embedded using their corporate email or even personal emails (Gmail,

Power Embedded uses capacity-based licensing rather than per-user licensing. This means your company won't need dozens or hundreds of Power BI Pro licenses, just for users who need to publish reports or access app.powerbi.com for gateway configuration, data updates, etc. As a result, **Power Embedded can reduce the cost of implementing and maintaining Power BI by up to 90%.

In addition to cost reduction, the Power Embedded solution offers

  • Possibility to share reports with external users without needing to add them in Azure AD.

  • User authentication integrated with Microsoft (Entra ID) and Google or through the system itself, supporting any email, even personal emails (Gmail, Yahoo, Bol, etc).

  • Import and synchronization of users and groups from Entra ID, allowing the system to create/delete users according to changes in their Entra ID group.

  • Generative artificial intelligence (Power Pilot), enabling natural language queries to dynamically generate tables, charts, and analyses from your data.

  • APIs to automate any administrative action and integrate with your system.

  • Possibility to display Power BI reports in your system seamlessly, without any visual identity from the system and without requiring the user to log in again (Single Sign-On)

  • White-label (fully customized with your company's and your clients' visual identity)

  • Multi-language (currently supporting 6 languages) Users can edit and create reports via the web, if granted this permission, without needing a Pro account or Power BI Desktop.

  • TV Mode (reports automatically cycling natively, without the need for extensions or a PC)

  • Dynamic templates (the same report connected to different models based on the user)

  • Report subscription to schedule recurring email delivery.

  • Export data from visuals (CSV and Excel) and pages (PDF, Image, and PowerPoint).

  • Everything is managed by you through the admin area: permissions, access, RLS, users, audits, and much more.

  • Support for RLS, permissions by user or group.

  • Various audit reports, such as login audit, permission audit (including RLS), report access audit, capacity audits, usage metrics, and many more.

  • And much more!

In addition to cost reduction and all the benefits mentioned above, all your workspaces will become PREMIUM, unlocking features in the Power BI service that are not available with Pro accounts:

  • Up to 48 data refreshes per day

  • Datasets larger than 1 GB

  • Datamarts (SQL Endpoint)

  • Hybrid tables (DirectQuery + Import in the same table, with real-time data)

  • Native versioning with GIT for reports and models

  • Deployment pipelines (automatically create multiple environments using DevOps)

  • Incremental refresh for Dataflows

  • Support for XMLA Endpoint (Allows external tools like Tabular Editor to access and/or modify your published data model. This is widely used for automatic model creation and task automation).

All these features are available even when accessing the workspace with a Pro account.
