A Common Question: Difference Between Creating Multiple Companies or Organizations to Customize the Viewing Portal
As you can observe in the drawing below, you can have multiple organizations in your tenant. Within each organization, you can have multiple companies
Both options serve well to meet the need for customized environments according to your client.
Both organizations and companies have virtually the same customization options available for colors and images on the report viewing portal and login screen.
To create independent URLs for each client/profile, both options have the same customization options and the same cost of R$ 50.00/month per additional subdomain.
When you have multiple companies within the same organization, user registration, groups, and reports are the same, and you can define which companies each user will be part of to customize the report portal experience.
Since it is only one organization, some configurations are shared because they do not exist at the company level, such as API keys, authentication method customization, integration with Google Analytics, etc.
On the other hand, when you have multiple organizations, the environments are completely isolated, meaning they do not share anything between organizations: users, groups, reports, parameters—everything is isolated. If you need the same user to exist in all organizations, you will have to create them multiple times (and they will be charged multiple times).
This can also be a positive point, as it allows having individual API keys for each organization/client, in addition to other configurations.
Power Embedded has two levels of customization separation, and you can use and combine them according to your needs:
Only 1 organization
Only 1 organization and 1 company
Only 1 organization and multiple companies
Multiple organizations and no companies
Multiple organizations and 1 company
Multiple organizations and multiple companies in each
IMPORTANT: The association of the user with the company does not influence the user's access permissions to the report, nor with RLS or permissions. It serves only for filtering and controlling the portal's visual identity according to the user's company. If the user is in more than one company or none, the visual identity will be inherited from the organization's general settings.
